Momoko Gill

Momoko is one of the UK electronic and jazz scene’s best-kept secrets. A self-taught drummer, producer, songwriter, and vocalist, she has brought her unique touch to collaborations with Alabaster DePlume, Matthew Herbert, Coby Sey, Tirzah, and Nadeem Din-Gabisi. Extensive touring behind the drum kit, at the keys and in front of the mic have honed her compositional and production instincts. Her debut solo albüm Momoko, released under the Strut label in February 2026, underscores that she is a composer and performer who rejects imitation, sculpting her sound through feel and expression rather than tradition. Supported by British Council, the London-based musician’s first Istanbul performance will take place at the Yeldeğirmeni Sanat on September 27 as part of the 36th Akbank Jazz Festival.
